Terms of Service

1. The service

Ema Paper turns PDFs and images into markdown with figure coordinates, over the web app, a REST API and an MCP connector, and lets you read, edit and discuss the result with an agent. The models that do the work run on the operator's own account with its providers; you bring no key.

2. Your account

You sign in with a Google account, and one account is one person. You are responsible for what happens under it, including every API key you create: keep those keys to yourself, and revoke one you think is exposed.

We may suspend or close an account that abuses the service: automated traffic beyond what its plan allows, content that is illegal where you or we are, or attempts to reach another user's data or the machines behind the service.

3. Your content

What you upload stays yours, and so does what Ema Paper makes from it. You give us the right to process it only as the service requires: rendering pages, sending them and your messages to the model providers behind the operator's proxy, and storing the results in your library. We do not use your content to train models, and we do not read it except to run the service or when you ask us to look into a problem.

You must have the right to upload what you upload.

4. Plans and credits

Every account has the Free plan, with a grant of credits each month. A paid plan is billed per cycle, in advance, through Dodo Payments, which sells the subscription as merchant of record and handles tax and invoices. The price is the one shown at checkout.

A parse costs a fixed number of credits per page and a chat turn is charged on its tokens, at the rates the pricing page shows. Credits not spent by the end of a period do not carry over. A parse that fails is not charged. We may change plans and rates; a change takes effect from your next period, and the pricing page always shows the current ones.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time in the customer portal. A cancelled subscription runs to the end of the period you paid for, then the account is on Free with its files kept. Refunds follow the refund policy.

6. Availability and changes to the service

Ema Paper is provided as is. We work to keep it available and your files intact, with backups, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may change or retire features, models and limits. Your files stay as long as your account exists.

7. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for the content a model produces, or for what you do with it, and our liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

8. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed; using the service after a change means you accept the revised terms. Questions go to the support address below.
